Question about your side effects
Has anyone found that they are exacerbated when something else is going on? Like allergies, cold, flu?
I woke up with a sore throat yesterday. I was cleaning in my basement over the weekend. Could be a cold, or I have breathed in an allergen. I usually double up on the Vit. C and use garlic if needed to clear my sinuses. So far, everything clear. Advil and Vit C are helping. Drinking lots of water! But--- my hair is falling out more since Sunday, and the hot flashes/sweats are frequent whereas they are usually just random. I skipped taking my scripts last night. Also, wouldn't you know I have an MO appt. on Monday and now I'm stressing over having to re-schedule. There is a treatment room there and they don't want you coming if you're not feeling well, and I totally get that.
Just wondering about your experiences, or if I am simply way off base thinking the 2 things are connected? Thanks!

I'm sorry you're under the weather. Anything that would change or deregulate your temperature (like exercise, going outside, having an infection) can cause hot flashes.

Mmm, my side effects aren't worse when I'm sick, but when I do get sick it's like really sick. Never used to be like that. A cold isn't just a cold, it's going to urgent care for zofran because nasal drainage is making me so nauseous I can't stop throwing up. My personal favorite (insert sarcasm) was the simple cold giving me an awful rash that needed Prednisone. I get so paranoid now when a sick person comes near me. My body also rashes up in a heartbeat ever since surgery. Weird.

Hi everyone, I think our immune system is weaker than normal. A week before I was due to have a D&C I woke up with a terrible sore throat and just like that the day before I was to go in it was gone. My GYN said to avoid stress that is what causes hot flashes!! Easier said than done. Has anyone ever had any side effects from the flu vaccine? I know it is a dead virus and we should get it. I missed last year now I'm not sure what to do.

Stress can cause hot flashes, but temperature changes do, too. So do breathing shallowly, postural changes, and a lot of other triggers.

Thank you all for the replies. I am doing better today. I think it is all the water I'm drinking, peeing a lot and constantly blowing my nose! Getting it out of me!! LOL
Definitely believe the more frequent hot flashes were due to stress on the immune system as well as the emotional stress of generally not feeling well. I haven't had a hot flash yet today. Last night, as a precaution I took my temperature and it was normal, even though I felt feverish. I think I'll be ok by Monday for the MO appt.
I did have a flu shot last year with no side effects other than some bruising on my arm from the injection that went away within a week. I'm due for it again in Oct. ugh. Wishing you all well today!
