After three years taking Letrozole I have had a recurrence. Is it worth trying another AI? Anyone else had similar problem, what did you do next?

I am so sorry you are dealing with this again. AIs cut down the probability of recurrence, but they don’t take it to zero. My guess is that since all of them do the same thing (by different mechanisms), it probably doesn’t matter which one you take. Someone else may chime in, but I haven’t heard that the three have different long-term outcomes.

I was on letrozole for 13 years and then had a recurrence. My oncologist switched me to faslodex (delivered by injection in your bum) and Ibrance. Faslodex operates in a slightly different way from the AIs.

    Hope this helps.
