    Hi Missymud,

I'm taking Tamoxifen but have the same issue with stomach problems. Continuous heartburn can cause permanent damage so you want to get it stopped. First, I'd let your doctor know. Are you taking it with food? There are over the counter medications you can try. Mine was/is so bad that I'm on prescription medication and eliminated certain foods from my diet, I don't lay down on a full stomach, and eliminated other meds that cause stomach irritation unless absolutely necessary.

    Hi there:

I also get heartburn from Arimidex. I take Zantac almost everyday, 150 mg or even 300 gm. I also was prescribed prantozole which is a proton pump inhibitor but it was advised I only take these pills short term because they can mess up your calcium metabolism. So I don't take them everyday, but only when the heartburn is unbearable. They do stop it for about 24 hours. Zantac works for about 12 hours at a time.

As for changing my diet, I noticed that soda pop gives me heart and so does some herbal teas, so I stopped those. I also noticed that eating too much at one time is a definite heartburn bringer on. My GP told me exercise will help, but I find heartburn comes on when I exercise. This is not my heart... I have had that all checked out. I guess over time heartburn will get better as I lose weight, which is the true issue I think. Also having an empty stomach gives heartburn for me too, so I snack on soda crackers. I nibble them and it helps.

It sucks. for sure, but it is manageable when you put your mind to it.
