Nipple pain

BMX 3/31/17 for DCIS, left breast, immediate reconstruction , direct implants.

All is well. However, recently I’ve noticed that around the time of my cycles, my nipple on the “punished” breast is sore to the touch. It looks perfectly normal. The soreness or “hypersensitive” feeling dissipates after my cycle. But, this nipple is always erect.

What gives? Normal or not? I’ve mentioned it to my breast oncologist, and she’s dismissed it. I receive ultrasounds as my routine follow ups, and all looks well.
