I am sorry you feel so alone. I have had this happen with relatives that live away and used to call. Now they text sometime. I find it strange but I think they do not know what to say or they want to visit but don’t want to get in the way. I read somewhere to ask for their help but be specific. Like can you take me to the store or come over and help me with housework. I think sometime they are waiting for an invitation or think you are resting. Reach out to the friends that answer. My niece told me she could talk to me right away because she was very emotional.Good luck in your recovery. I also have found pray is my best answer for peace.

Floridaliving, yes. I'm sure a big part of why people don't call is they're afraid to intrude. They either don't want to disturb you if you're resting, or they don't want to disturb you by checking on your health because maybe it was the only 10 minutes of the day you weren't thinking of it, and they don't want to bring it up. I think texting is GREAT! because then it gives the power to us to say, "yeah, I'd love to talk to you. If you could call around 5:30..." or whatever. We can answer it according to our own preferences.
