red spots on breast won’t go away
hey guys,
Around 4 days ago I noticed a small red pimple on my breast I thought it was an ingrown hair so I wasn't gradually concerned. Then 3 days ago a faint red patch started to build on my breast too. it hasn't grown or anything, but it's there. no itching. my breast is not swollen, but it has always been bigger than the other one. pimple hasn't disappeared either. now there a multiple small red spots on my breast
should i see a doctor about this? i am only 19 and kind of scared that this could be cancer as many pages state redness as a symptom.

Ask yourself if you would see a doctor if you had a pimple on your chin. Breasts have skin and they develop skin problems like anywhere else. If you want to be ease your worry you can see a doctor but I wouldn't worry that it is cancer.

Hi lennonmayd, and welcome!!
At your age, the chances of this being breast cancer are very, very small. We know symptoms in your breasts can be scary, but take a big breath and talk with a parent or someone your trust, or even a doctor about what you're experiencing, that will help ease your concerns.
Best wishes,

Might suggest a dermatologist if the condition persists.

thank you for your reassuring words. I told my mother about it and she wasn’t concerned but i don’t know if she knows that it could be a cancer sign. the red patch seems to be a little more red now but it could be imagination. i think i am going to wait until my period is over and see how things go from there and maybe then contact a doctor if the redness persists.

Take a picture daily so you can monitor for changes. Also, if the red patch seems to be growing, then draw a line around it so you can see if it is growing. A primary care doctor or dermatologist would be a good person to see. It is likely an infection or skin condition.

thank you!!
i'm seeing my GP tomorrow for a different thing so I'll ask about the red spot there. it's been a week now and the spot got smaller, but it’s more red now for some reason..I keep reading stories where redness leads to IBC tho, which is probably a bad thing to do. I'm still a little worried so hopefully my doctor will put my mind at ease.

first off I want to say you’re very young. Never say never though. Anything is possible. But the odds are in your favor that it is not IBC. Do you have health anxiety? I think most people do. If I were to guess it may be some kind of dermatology issue.
-
I do have health anxiety.. I never knew about IBC before I googled so I wish I would’ve never googled..i’ve been getting red spots in both of my breast for some time now, but ever since i read about IBC I think i’m dying each time they occur

Sweetie, red spots are not breast cancer. And something that goes away, and then comes back, is 100% not cancer. Cancer does not go away and come back.
You sound very young. Your best bet is to STAY AWAY FROM DR. GOOGLE. It will only tell you the worst possible thing (no matter how unlikely). It won't tell you what is really wrong. You should see your doctor if you're really concerned. They can help you with your health anxiety much better than strangers on an internet forum can.
Good luck.

Ah, you didn't mention before that you've been getting these red spots on both breasts for some time now - that's very relevant information. As Trish said, red spots that come and go are not cancer. It's a rash of some sort. See a dermatologist if it's bothering you.

thank you ladies.
I told my regular doctor about it and he wasn’t concerned at all. He thinks it’s skin irritation. I’m still a little uneasy but that’s just my anxiety. I’ve done everything I can do for now.
