hi, have a question. Tomorrow I go for a mammogram and a US because if erythema (redness) of the right breat (unilateral) it's been ongoing for almost 3 weeks. No change whatsoever as I have been taking pics everyday of the effected area. Was recently at my PP and she said that the only thing that concerned her was the erythema (redness) I have no axillary swollen nodes and no swollen nodes above the collar bone and none are painful. I know when everyone thinks rash on boob they automatically think Inflammatory breast cancer. Oh course when you even type in redness of the breast or rash that is the FIRST thing that pops up thanks to dr.google. My question is do you think that after the findings of the mammo and US that because the skin is effected that they will do a biopsy ? Or can they come to a conclusion based on the two tests alone as to what it may be like a dermatogy issue? Can they tell if it's a dermissue like Vasculitis ext? Do you think I'll need a lunch biopsy? My dr said it could be Vasculitis p, cellulite or i could have had a cys5 rupture underneath the skin and that is what’s causing the redness.

If you need a biopsy one will be recommended. You might ask for a referral to a dermatologist if there are no concerning breast findings. Derms can do skin punch biopsies too if warranted
