edited August 2019 in Waiting for Test Results

Hello everyone, I'm new here and decided to post after feeling a bit overwhelmed...

June 2018 I had a terminal duct excision (right breast) after discharge from my right nipple came back from cytology as atypical. Pathology came back clear.

Fast forward to a few days ago (August 2019), I went in for my annual bilateral MRI w/ + w/o contrast and the next morning I was told I would need a biopsy due to the findings. Sub areolar non mass-like enhancement in the same breast I had the ducts removed. Since my surgery last year, I am on a plan for the next four years to see my oncologist and breast surgeon every six months.

My MRI guided biopsy is scheduled for Aug 21st and I was just wondering if anyone had a similar experience with an enhancement post terminal duct excision. It's been 14 months since my surgery and I feel so anxious because I know how nerve wracking it to wait for results.

I asked a few questions to my nurse over the phone and she didn't clarify the size of the enhancement. She just said they're doing the biopsy to find out what it is...I'm really trying hard to be patient.

I see a lot of people posting their MRI reports and they seem to be so knowledgeable about their situations. I love my surgeon and oncologist but sometimes I feel like I know nothing about my risks and what's going on with my body.
