Clinical trial - testosterone pellets

From what I'm understanding, this trial looking for the effects of testosterone pellets on breast cancer incidence should've been completed in March of '18. (Correct me if I'm wrong!). I was wondering how long it takes for the final report to be released? Shouldn't it be out by now?? My dr is leaning towards doing this, and I'm trying to do my research beforehand. I'd love to know what the final results are

SophiaMarie, Just had a similar conversation with my BS! Do you have any links you could provide? I've searched very briefly without any great success but also have been busy with other things. I'll see her again in November when we are supposed to discuss in more detail. I'd really like to know more before then. Will share whatever I find, if anything. Do you know where the trial was cpnducted?

The study concluded in December 2018 and it doesn't appear that any results have been posted yet. From what I see it wasn't an actual trial, it was an observational study of women who had previously received testosterone implants because of hormone deficiencies to see if it affected their rate of breast cancer. Pre-existing breast cancer was an exclusion criteria for the study.

ok - I hadn’t caught that it excluded women with a bc history. It’s so frustrating - it’s so hard to find concrete info.

In the past I have read another paper about this treatment and it also had a positive outcome. My PCP does pellet insertion of estrogen, testosterone and maybe something else in non-cancer patients. This is to help them feel better which it evidently does. Next time I see her I'm going to mention these studies and see what she says. If you noticed, the one referenced above was done in 2013. Six years later, nothing more??
