edited August 2019 in Not Diagnosed But Worried

it all started with a chest CT that showed an enlarged axillary lymph node. That node was biopsied. Cancer was found with all the markers for breast cancer.

Since that biopsy I have had a PET scan, mammogram, and MRI of my brain. This week is a breast MRI and biopsy of chest lymph nodes that lit up on PET scan via a Bronchoscopy with needle aspiration

No mass has been found in my breast. But, I gather that doesn’t matter with the axillary lymph node screaming breast cancer. The waiting is awful. I’m ready (I think) to do whatever I have to do to beat this. I just want a game plan and get started on it!

My outlook is good. I’ve always been tough not backing down from anything. You get thrown off the horse, you get back on. I’m determined not to let this get me.

I’m not happy to be here. But I am glad this group exists

I’m so sorry you are here, yet so happy that you found this forum. We are here for you. The waiting is torturous. But it seems as if you have a very positive demeanor, which accounts for a lot! Hang in there and let us know if we can answer any questions for you.

We too are sorry you are here, but glad you found us at BCO. The waiting is the worst, indeed. Please keep us posted, and keep your chin up this week the best you can!

Getting to sleep at night is sometimes difficult. My therapist has prescribed something. But I usually try to get to sleep without taking anything. I’ll get up around 1am and finally take something if I haven’t had any success falling asleep.

I don’t know why. But nights are the most difficult so far. I’m hoping once I have a diagnosis and game plan that I feel less anxious. Patience is not one of my virtues

Snaffle sleep during the waiting period is the worst. My BS gave me something to help and said try not to take it every night. I would take it Sunday to start my work week on the right foot. Then usually mid week and sometimes on a Friday if we had a busy weekend and I needed patience. I was amazed at how a good night's sleep helped. Take a breath, stay strong and know we are here to listen and support.
