Scheduled for Biopsy

Options

A spot showed up on my breast over 3 years ago and I didn't think much of it. I had my annual visit with my surgeon soon after but forgot to mention it and she never said anything about it when she examined me. I figured it was a fatty deposit or something that I have elsewhere on my body and the doctors have said is no problem and normal. The next couple of years I didn't see my surgeon because of other medical/financial strains and we had an Obamacare plan that did not include the surgeon, the hospital, or anyone else associated with them. It was the only insurance company we had to choose from.

Now that I finally got full-time work with regular health insurance, I could finally see the surgeon today. I mentioned the spot to her and she doesn't know what it is. She said it looks like a surgical/biopsy spot but it's not soft like my other ones (I had a LOT of biopsies with my first dx) and has a little depth to it. I was hoping it was a biopsy spot with scar tissue. She also said it doesn't look like a normal cancer spot either. She no longer does surgeries but consulted with her colleague who had the same opinion.

I am scheduled for a biopsy in 2 weeks and the shock and the feelings I had with my first diagnosis came back immediately. I'm feeling quite emotional.

Has anyone else experienced anything like that? If so, what was your outcome?
