Juvenile Papillomatosis

About 5 years ago when I was 16 I found a lump in my left breast. I immediately went to my doctor and she wrote me an order to get an ultrasound done. I got that done and they found a bunch of cysts that were benign.

Fast forward to now, I'm 21 so I went to my gynecologist (I no longer see the other doctor from 5 years ago) for my first papsmear and breast exam. I let her know that I have cysts so if she felt anything to not worry. She ended up writing me an order to go get another ultrasound done to make sure nothing has changed. I went and got that ultrasound done and was just waiting for a call to get the results. I got a call from the gynecologist office and the woman on the phone told me that my doctor is sending me to a breast specialist.

I just had the appointment with the breast specialist today and here’s what happened.

So pretty much the breast specialist doesn't really know what it is. I do have a few larger cysts but I also have a ton of really small ones all over my breast. She said it looks like Juvenile Papillomatosis. She's going to do some research because she's never seen the cysts all over the breast before, I guess normally they are in one section of the breast? So she has to look into it. She said doing a needle biopsy wouldn't do much because what's in one cyst doesn't tell what's in another cyst and she can't do a needle biopsy on every cyst since there's so many. There is a chance they'll have to do an actual biopsy where they remove the whole section and since it's a lot I would basically have to have reconstruction surgery and an implant. I guess because it’s so much that would have to be removed, my breast would be much smaller after the biopsy. My left breast was always much smaller than my right, which I know can be normal but she said this may be affecting fat from growing on my left breast so that could be the reason. So she's going to do some research and see what to do when there's a lot all over the breast and if she finds that there's something they can do she'll call, but otherwise I go back in 3 months. I think she said the only reason I'd have to get it removed is if I have a future risk of breast cancer, which from what I’ve read, having multiple Papillomas can slightly increase your risk for future BC. I’m just extremely stressed out because I’m only 21 and starting classes at a new university in a month

If anyone has any advice, or just good thoughts I would appreciate to hear everything!
