Birth Control while on Tamoxifen

I need to start my 5 year sentence of Tamoxifen soon. I was lucky enough to put it off for a year after UMX and now I have a beautiful 6 week old daughter.

I'm thinking about getting a copper IUD but I hear side effects can be bad in the first weeks and months. I'm worried about not knowing what side effects are from the IUD, what are from the Tamoxifen, and what I can chalk up to the stray post-partum hormones, stress of going back to work, etc. Has anyone else experienced this?

No but those are definitely questions for both your MO and your Ob/Gyn.
