11 year visit this morning--it is getting to be time to leave the onc and just go back to pcp (but still have imaging done at cancer center)... mammogram fine-- MRI will be in fall-- plus a colonoscopy yesterday with no findings. I have learned to celebrate the little things (and the not so little things) and no findings/benign are always cause for celebration!!!!

Did you continue Letrozole for more than five years? I don’t think I will ever relax about getting ILC again, but so good to hear you have had 11 cancer free years! Congratulations!!

    Hi

I stayed on letrozole for 5 years-- my onc did not feel that it was necessary to go longer and the research did not convince her that we should go longer. I think it was a good call.... but every situation is different--- and it looks like you have been through it a couple of times.... I wish you luck.

I had 15 1/2 years between the IDC and ILC. It shook me to the core because I was sure I was cured!

I will always believe my cancer will return because of my personal experience. I do hope that as time goes on I will put those beliefs on a shelf in the back of my mind and just relish each year I am cancer free! I don't want fear of recurrence to rob me of joy.

I'm leaning towards five years on Letrozole too, but I just have to take it one day at a time. I'm doing the Risk Assessment in October as things have changed since I was tested years ago. I will be glad to hear what the results are. I should mention my mother and two of my three sisters also had breast cancer, but I am BRCA neg.

For now I just want to say Woohooo! I'm so happy you are 11 years cancer free.....and counting!😊 I hope you celebrated in a big way! Your post lifted my spirits!

I just got my letter after my first 6 month Mamo after my lumpectomy and there is no evidence of cancer.,Woo hoo! I will celebrate all these”little” victories. Trying to eat better as I have gained weight on Arimidex and making myself exercise more. But today after opening that letter.....is a great day!
