Tumor seems larger

Hi ladies

My mom is on taxol/carbo now for TNBC. She did not get an infusion last week because of low platelets. The week before she only got Taxol because carbo was significantly lowering both hemoglobin and platelets. The tumor seems lighter in color now, but larger in size. Is that normal? During the previous two weeks she has been suffering pain in the tumor site. Anybody went through a similar situation? I’m really worried

I am snot sure what you mean about color...? (How do you assess the color? On a scan, or a mammogram?)

A growing tumor is not good, if that's happening. But pain in the site can be ok-- that can be the chemo working. What does the MO say?

Hi!

I meant the color of the skin of the tumor. It used to be darker and now it is closer to skin color though still a little bit dark. The tumor seems larger by sight but not that much. Mom not sure why it seems larger. Maybe it’s scar tissue? Swelling? We have an appointment with the MO this Monday.

A lighter tumor sounds like good news to me.

Maybe the tumor is breaking into pieces and that's why it seems to be more large. It happened to me. It feels softer or more elastic? Anyway your doc will take care of the situation on monday. I wish you good luck!

She says it feel softer in general and looks lighter but the size seems bigger. Did you get PCR

An update for you guys. We met the MO and he suspects the tumor is getting larger especially that she is feeling pain in the tumor. He scheduled an appointment with the surgeon this Wednesday so mom can have surgery as soon as possible. Mom is really upset about this. Did anybody went through a similar situation?
