Pain 3 weeks after excisonal biopsy

Hi all-

I mostly just need a "sanity check" and assurance that what I'm feeling is normal. About 3.5 weeks ago I had an excisional biopsy in my right breast. I have, as my BS described them, "generous breasts" so even though she took a bigger chunk than I expected, they should heal just fine and not look asymmetrical or anything.

The incision doesn't hurt at all, and is healing well. BS says everything is healing fine. However, my breast still HURTS, especially if it bounces at all. It's mostly achy pain but occasionally a sharp pain as well. I've been wearing my tightest compression sports bras (which dig into my shoulders and back) to prevent any movement but if I wear a "normal" bra, even just slow walking is noticeably painful. I don't have the highest pain tolerance in the world, and I'm sure some of this pain is normal, but just wanted to see if others with larger breasts have had similar experiences after lumpectomy surgery, and if so...when does it get better?

Thanks!

I had zingy zappy pains off and on for months after mine. If your bruising is like mine was I'm not surprised you are still somewhat sore after 3 weeks. Where the incision was and the weight of your breasts is probably a factor too.

I hurt for about a month after my core needle biopsy. The doc took 12 cores of my teeny mass. During the procedure I said it felt like he was a dentist drilling my tooth. I swear I think he shredded my tumor. LOL. I'll be surprised if the lab has anything to work with after my MX. Amyhoo, yes, I understand your pain. It's like a big interior bruise that takes forever to fade away. Hang in there.
