Hello everyone,

I have a question. Are complicated cysts suppose to be round? I received images of the lesion they are referring to but I am confused. The lesion looks like a sideways leaf (it has 3 angular points on the left/front of the lesion; rounds out at the back and has a branch like projection pointing downwards. Should I get a second opinion? They listed it as a benign complicated cyst; but I truly thought cysts were suppose to be round?

I am at a High Risk for breast cancer (family history plus personal high risk lesions in the past)

Have you asked your doctor to explain why the imaging you are looking at doesn't agree with your understanding of what you have been told? I would ask to speak to them until I was satisfied with the answer.

I received the report online; I spoke to my family doctor and although he looked at the images; he gave me no real explanation and I left feeling as confused as when I arrived. I want to get a second opinion so I can feel comfortable and understand why it was labelled the way it was.
