Has your prescription for contacts changed?

I started AC chemotherapy on April 26th, one week after having my annual eye exam. One week later, my contacts were not working. My new glasses still worked just fine. Went back, and they drastically changed my rx and I could see again. I did 4 ACs, and about a week ago, noticed my contacts are off again. Just started 1/12 Taxol, and I need to call the eye dr and get checked again. Of course, I bought a year's worth of contacts when I got the new rx, which I assume will be of no good to me. (Won't do that again!)

Have any of you experienced this? I assume the shape of my cornea has changed.

Hi! I use contact lenses too, I didn't used it during chemo, because of the risk of infections. I've wearing my glasses until now (2 weeks after surgery) and I've realized that my eyesight was being worst during all this process. 2 days ago I started to use my contacts again, and yes, I should have to had a new prescription. I don't know if it will be permanent, I'm afraid it will be. So sad, chemo sucks! I hope you are doing well with the other chemo stuff. HUGS

Thank you, Yndorian. I will go back to glasses for now, too. I hope your recovery from surgery is going smoothly.

Just saw my eye doctor, yikes last year I missed my annual eye exam. I am caring for my elderly mother who has doctors appointments atleast once a week or more. It can be overwhelming and I tend to put myself on the back burner. Anyway my eye doctor said wow your eyes have really improved since you had dry eye. I told him as soon as I stopped taking exemestane my eye got almost 100% percent better. He said what the heck kind of drug is exemestane? I explained to whole thing to him, he was really suprised but agreed must of been the drug.

I wore glasses abs contacts throughout treatment though I did notice my nearsightedness changed and I needed to use my reader's more often even when not reading. It seemed to get worse during the Taxol. Im 2 months pfc , today 😁😁, and noticed that my eyesight is almost back to what it was post- chemo, still have some small issues with nearsightedness though majorly better than it was.

Yes, but it's because I spent 4 months unable to do much of anything but browse the internet and watch netflix on my phone.

After 2 Taxol tx, my vision is back to my old contact lens strength that I had before I started AC. I have about a month's worth of those old contacts left that I can use. I have an eye appt next week, but since Taxol is cumulative, I wonder if my cornea will change again.
