edited June 2019 in Waiting for Test Results

Hello all! This is the first time I have posted. I went for a routine mammogram. There were some questionable things, so had an ultrasound. They found 3 cysts and one mass that was not "normal." So, they took a biopsy of the abnormal mass. They told me that my results would be back in 5 days. That was June 13th. It is now the 25th, and my doctor's office still doesn't have my pathology report. I would like to know if this has happened to anyone else, and whether the results were benign or malignant. Does anyone else have a similar story? I am just super stressed and worried.

Thanks for any and all information you could provide. I am sure this question comes up a lot, but would love to hear other's experiences.

I had an issue getting my biopsy results. The imaging center swore they faxed it to my obgyn, and my doctor's office swore they had received nothing. My amateur diagnosis is that they were both using 'digital faxing' and somehow their machines weren't talking to each other.

I finally went into the imaging place in person. Then they have to give you your results. The poor receptionist printed it out and handed it to me in an envelope with the malignant outcome. Not how you want to hear it! Then I literally watched her press the buttons to fax it to my doctor's office. They still didn't get it. I ended up taking pictures with my phone and email it to my doctor.

(Luckily the imagine place had more success transmitting my results to my treatment center...)

Go in person to the office and ask for the results.

I have been going through the same thing. I have had two biopsies and both time the results took about 3 weeks or so because they had to be sent out to a different center that dealt with whatever they think it is. In my case, they think it could be a phylodes tumor which is not encountered often, so it is possible that they had to send your stuff somewhere else?!
