2D stereotactic biopsy experience for those needing one

Hello all! Well i just had a 2d stereotactic biopsy today on some microcalcifications, should know results in a week. It wasnt too bad, the radiologist was super awesome, same one I met who read my imaging so I was really comfortable with her. I was sitting for mine. I felt a few twinges but not much else. Honestly my anxiety was the worst part of the whole thing and was pretty unnecessary I have to say. Im a little sore now but I havent even taken any tylenol or anything. Just using a cold pack. I drove myself to and from no problem-a 40 min drive home. Wouldve been nice to have support but it was ok. 😊 Got the local with no epinephrine (I have a heart condition) and still worked just fine. They talked to me the whole time to keep me distracted I think. Hang in there all, it was just not bad at all. Praying for good results!

This is great! I posted on your original thread about stereotactic, and am glad you had a better experience than I did (laying down).

Try not to freak out in the interim...and a week is pretty long. I had my results back in less than 48 hours.

Thank you GenX! I super appreciate you posting and your positive thoughts and well wishes!!! 🤞🏻😊 I think part of the long wait has to do with my insurance requirements re what lab they have to use. Sadly it all comes down to money at the end of the day. But the center I go to also doesnt believe in phone results good or bad. I guess I can understand that. Unfortunately I will need a second biopsy in a few weeks. I posted separately about that one...they were going to do MRI screening and possible MRI biopsy (they cant see it on 2d or ultrasound) so now they are recommending I go somewhere w 3d stereotactic biopsy capabilities. Its gonna be a long few months for me for sure...all this waiting for this and for that...but trying to think the best. I have alot of family history so its just scary!
