Three lymph nodes increasing in size and painful.

Six year breast cancer survivor. Have had three swollen lymph nodes for two years. Increased in size in last six months, painful for two years, architecture of nodes looks normal. Had a double mastectomy due to three LC tumors in same area as these nodes. Followed by ultrasound every six months by doc in small, rural hospital. Should I see a breast surgeon. What should I ask. Thank you...

Do you have periodic PET scans? An US guided biopsy of the nodes will tell you what is going on.

Agree with DJ!!

I was 7 years Ned. In January the non cancer side started to itch and hurt. PET/ct lit up 7 positive nodes.

Get checked out.

Have never had a Pet Scan. Had MRIs in 2012 and 2013, only Ultrasounds every 6 months last 2 years.
