Breast Cancer Recurrence Scare??
Hello. Anyone ever experience having a mass in the same breast at any point that was not the return of cancer? I went for MRI and ultrasound and they ruled out fat necrosis scar tissue and cyst. I do have a biopsy Wednesday but need some hope here. I was diagnosed 2017 er/+ pr/+ Her2/+ Chemo, lumpectomy with 1 node, radiation, and target therapy. Currently on Tamoxifen. Or if you had a recurrence, what was your diagnosis and did you not have to do chemo the second round??

Bless your heart Ashley I hope it’s not a recurrence. I haven’t had one but my sister has. She had a MX and the cancer returned in the scar area. She didn’t have chemo or radiation the first time but did have radiation this time and has 2 shots every month.
Keep us posted.

In the 19+ years since my original Dx of IDC I've had many biopsies in my BC Breast and my non-BC Breast. Until last year, none of them were malignant. I've had fibroadenomas, radial scar, complex cyst, ADH, and ALH. It is possible to have benign findings post cancer.
**Edited to add that with my new DX, unless we find any surprises in the mastectomy pathology, my team is not recommending Chemo. I have been on Tamoxifen, which obviously didn't do what it was supposed to do given my new tumor is highly ER+/PR+. Because of this, after surgery I will be taken off of Tamoxifen and put on Ovarian Suppression + Aromatase Inhibitor.

Oh my goodness Tracy. What a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Thank you so much for sharing this. Very hopeful and good to know moving forward. I too am on Tamoxifen and am going to start the shot to completely shut down my ovaries. I am 32 years old so I have a lot of time left before I naturally go into menopause. I just ordered passion flower herb that is good for helping with the bad estrogen. Fingers crossed. Sending many positive vibes/prayers your way xoxo

Hi Ashley. My name is Ashley and I’m going through the same thing. What did your biopsy show

Hi Ashley! Unfortunately I have cancer again. I am 32 and this is not a recurrence it’s a new primary cancer in the same breast. I start chemo again tomorrow and I’m so upset about it. Tested negative for BRCA genes. I don’t understand how could I get this new cancer 2 years later. I’m ready to fight again though and I hope and pray that your biopsy comes back good 🙏🏼 Keep me posted 💗
