movable soft lump under skin in upper back near shoulder blade

While I was applying lotion to my back I noticed a semi soft lump that is moveable on the opposite side of the breast cancer, when I googled it lipoma came up. But obviously having recently completed breast cancer treatment my mind has gone to the dark place and now fear its metastasized. Clearly I will call my doc first thing in the morning but I know that it'll still take a couple days to get in and get testing done. Does anyone have good stories to share where the lump was actually a lipoma and not cancer. Just when I thought I could get back to normal now I find this. Im terrified and will probably be up most of the night now scouring the net.

A situation like yours does not sound like the descriptions of metastases I have run into. The most common sites are bone, lung, brain and liver. Skin involvement can occur so it's good you're getting checked.

Let us know what the conclusion is.

Thanks for replying, Its not on my skin but directly under the skin. Its like its sitting on top of my back muscle near my shoulder blade.

Always good to check out new findings. It sounds like a lipoma and nothing scary. Again, good to follow up. I had a friend with 3 of them on her back. She had not been previously dx with cancer, but still, all of hers were lipomas.

Hoping you got answers, but thankfully, cancer lumps are typically not mobile. Always best to get it examined.

You probably have gotten answers by now, and I hope it is good news. My husband had a similar lump on his lower back, and was told that as long as it moves with the skin it is likely just a fat deposit and should be monitored. Not a concern.

yep. Lipoma for me too. Was bothering me so I had it removed.

I have a lipoma on my right forearm, not visible but easily felt - soft and moveable. Yours sounds very much like a lipoma, and the location is a very common site for them.
