hello 🙂

I just received news today that my pathology shows grade 3 invasive lobular carcinoma. No more information available yet. I have a consult with a surgeon next week. I had a lump that was excised in Jan 18 that they said was benign. It regrew double the size and in the exact same place. I think they missed it the first go around. It scares me to think it has likely been growing In me for so long.

Hi, I had a 1.6cm ILC, 9,3,5mm tumors as well. I ended up w 2/5 positive nodes, although after frozen pathology with sentinel node, I looked all clear. I had the tumors in both breasts. I ended up doing a BMX and chemo. Radiation was not recommended. My 1.6cm was found by mammogram, .9 found w breast MRI and the two small ones during my BMX. Don't worry until you know all the details. Breast cancer grows slowly. I know my ILC was there the year before when I got my all clear mammogram. My ILC also by MRI was listed as 2.3 but ended up being 1.6.

If you feel comfortable with your treatment group, you are probably in good hands. I researched here and other medical journal articles but that's my thing. You need to be informed but don't become obsessed with it

Good luck! I found all the tests and treatments totally doable. Not a ton of fun but I got through it and you will too.

thank you! Yes anxiously awaiting the full picture. I am not sure if they will try and do sentinel node mapping or other testing before surgery but I’m mentally preparing for a BMX. My mom had breast cancer but hers was stage 0 and she had a bmx and did not need further treatment. I will be scared if I need chemo. My father passed from metastatic cancer so I watched him go through it and it was hard.Thank you for your support ❤️

Hi Hv2Cutedimples - sorry you find yourself here but it's the best place for info & support.

Just wanted to let you know that you posted on the invasive ductal subforum but you said you have lobular - so you might want to intro yourself on the ILC forum as well as those peeps will have more specific hints about your treatment options.

Fwiw, chemo sucked but nowhere near as bad as I thought it would (I was so worried about nausea and for the most part that was well controlled; I had other complications that landed me in hospital twice though but that's definitely not the norm) and I am glad that science has made it available since I have a significant reocurrence risk & chemo reduced it. If I needed to, I would sign up for it again without blinking, even after all the complications (but I would ask for more ativan lol).

Hang in there. The early days are tough but once you have a treatment plan and you get a sense that something is being done about it, it gets easier. Just one foot in front of the other and one day at a time. Hugs.
