Hair Loss and Growth

A little about me. In January 2016 I had a lumpectomy and radiation for a Stage I tumor in my breast and all went well. In January 2018 I was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastasized Breast Cancer to the Bones. A month ago it was determined that the tumors are dormant. However, I am still taking Kisqali and Letrozole and will continue to take these meds until the cancer becomes active again. I've had a lot of hair loss and what's left has gotten very thin. Does anyone know if I were to shave it off, would it grow back while I'm continuously on Kisqali and Letrozole?

    Hi pink pearl

I'm on this combo too. I have had hair thinning but also some sprouts of hair growth happening and I'm almost done on cycle #4. I guess it is hard to say as each person is different but perhaps search on the forum pic Ribociclib/Kisqali with Letrozole - Any one on this combo?

as there are many girls there that have been on this combo longer that may be able to help with your question. Congrats by the way on those dormant tumors that's excellent to hear.

I am on a different combo: Verzenio, a CDK 4/6 inhibitor like Kisqali and Faslodex as an anri-estrogen treatment. My hair seemed to be thinning last winter but now has stabilized. Perhaps yours will resolve soon.

There are beauticians who help those with alopecia find styles or wigs which can conceal problem spots. I have the feeling that shaving your head would not result in luxurious new growth as long as you are on the meds.

After chemo, my normally thick tresses returned although darker because the sun lightened top areas were gone. When I tried letrozole alone I did not notice any significant loss. Hope you find a result you can manage!
