fingernails changed color after 3 ACs, is it normal?

Hi Ladies,

Shortly after I finished my third AC nearly two weeks ago, I noticed the color of bottom of my fingernails (the crescent-shaped area) changed purplish/black> Is it normal? I thought if they were to change color it would be during T, not AC. I used ice pads for the hands during ACs. However, for the 3rd AC, the ice pads became warm as my oncologist took too long, I also only put my hands on top of the ice, therefore the top of my hands were not covered by ice. Was it the problem?

If it were chemo related, should I just be careful of making sure the cold pads are cold and that's all? are there anything I should do in addition to cold pads? and will the color of nails be ever return to normal? Thanks

Unfortunately, yes that is a side effect. After chemo is over your nails should get better in time.
