Birads 3 with no mass

hi all. I am 32 momma of 2 and pressed my doctor for a breast ultrasound after having pain in one breast (left) that comes and goes. The doctor order an ultrasound to calm my anxiety. I called our breast center and because of my age they said mammogram and ultrasound should be done. So I went and have a 3d mammogram done and bilateral ultrasound.

The radiologist said the right breast showed asymmetry with 1cm nodular spot on the mammogram only shown in spot compression view and one other view. The ultrasound showed nothing. No mass etc. I was given a birads 3 and told to do 6 month follow up on the right.

I want to know if other have had this? Was everything ok? I went to a breast center and that is clearly all they do but I'm still worried. Should impress for a biopsy? If so what the heck would they biopsy with no mass? Should I accept the fact and just follow up.

We have a history of breast cancer. And my husband finished chemo a few months ago so my anxiety is at an all time high.

Sorry to hear about your husband, and what you've been through with that. Naturally that alone will increase any anxiety you have. It is very good that nothing was seen on the ultrasound, and they feel you are good to wait for 6 months. However, if you have a history in your fatly, it may be worth discussing the option of genetic testing now. It could help provide more information to you, and your family history.

    Please keep us posted,
