hello-

I'm currently doing ACT. I've just taken the third dose and its clear although I'm responding , its not an amazing response. Just wondering if anyone (er+/pr+ her2-) has had a mediocre response to neoadjuvant chemo and gone on to do okay.

    hi Libby,

I think that the fact that your tumor is responding is very good. You have more treatments to go which, hopefully, will shrink it even more. Surgery and radiation will take care of whatever remains (if anything).

I am sure there are many women on this board who did not achieve PCR, yet they are living happy and disease free lives. We will be in this camp too!

I had 6 doses of taxatere and cytoxan, my tumor shrunk by my 3 rd dose and I could tell from looking that it had shrunk. My oncologist said after chemo, and then my surgery,(my tumor was bigger than we thought originally) that I had a 75-80 % response which he thought was good for HR + cancer.

I did neoadjuvant TAC and although it faded the inflammatory redness in the skin of my breast, it didn't completely disappear. The mastectomy pathology showed good margins but still many tumor emboli in the dermal lymphatics. I was really bummed. My onc warned me that hormone positive tumors rarely get PCR. I put faith in the gazillion rays of radiation shot into me.

Something worked, praise God! That was almost 8 years ago.
