I found a lump 2 days ago, exactly a month after my double revision & exchange to implants.

Was sent for an ultrasound yesterday & then appointment with oncologist. He’s referring me to a local Breast surgeon.

Ultrasound found an oval “probably benign mass” about an inch in diameter.

Reconstruction surgeon will see me tomorrow, but already said “probably benign” doesn’t ring well with him & he wants to do surgery asap. He just operated on me 4 weeks ago; wants to make sure of what it is & not mess up his recent work.

Will I have drains? Anyone has had a lumpectomy after dmx?

I’m panicked, because it’s on my “good boob” which had high-risk precancerous lobular, but not 3 IDCs and 1 DCIS, like the other side..

Hi there, AVASH. We want to welcome you to our community at BCO, but we're sorry you find yourself here with this worry! We're glad your reconstruction surgeon is being proactive, but we know how frustrating it must be to be going under the knife again so soon after your exchange surgery! Most people won't have drains after a lumpectomy, but we imagine it has a lot to do with how much the surgeon has to do to remove the lump from the reconstructed breast. Hopefully, once you see the surgeon tomorrow, you'll have a better idea of what this procedure will entail. Please keep us posted on how it goes tomorrow!
