Curcumin dosage 8 week plan for their Breast cancer?
Hello everyone I'm a newbie here who was diagnosed a little over two months ago with IDC. I'm 68 years old and do not want to go the conventional way of surgery, chemo, radiation, etc. The only thing I have done is have the mamamogram, followed by ultrasound and biopsy.
Since my diagnosis I have been reading books by people who were healed naturally and doing research on breast cancer. I have changed my diet to juicing, eating more vegetables, whole grains, and fruits with very limited seafood and a few nuts and seeds. I also had my Vitamin D checked, was found deficient in this and am now taking 5,000 mg daily. I also take Curcumin at 1000 mg daily. I have grape seed extract at 400mg but have not started taking this on a regular basis yet. I am trying to establish a daily exercise plan as well as getting out in the sun more often too but this is still an area that I need to work more on.
I'm being doing a lot of research on the curcumin and found the above 8 week dosage plan to try for my breast cancer. Has anyone followed this plan? If so what were your results? I have decided to try it and this morning I also ordered some turmeric oil which I will apply topically on my breast that has the tumors (2) while following the plan for eight weeks. You can find this dosage plan on turmericforhealth.com
I have learned a lot by reading many of your posts but I do wish more of you would specify exactly what you are doing to treat your breast cancer naturally and what kinds of results you are having with what you are doing.
I am only seeing my PCP at this time although I did see a Breast Surgeon after my diagnosis and was considering a double mastectomy (even though the 2 tumors are only in my right breast). After doing so much research I just do not have peace about having surgery. I have not seen an Oncologist yet though I did have an appointment set up with one...which I canceled because I had only made it because I felt pressured by one of my daughters into doing this.
At 68 years old I really want to try natural alternatives for healing and enjoy quality of life for as long as the good Lord blesses me with this.

Hello Babsinbloom68,
I admire you for your courage, not to encourage you but still it is your decision that gives you peace of mind.
I myself am not a believer in chemo, surgery and radiation although I did 2 sessions of chemo before surgery and escaped from chemo again after surgery as they advised me to.Two years after, there was a lump on my clavicle and oncologist said to have chemo which I did for 2 sessions, then the lump was gone,I read that cancer has 5 layers and chemo works only for the 4th and 5th layer they say.The side effects of CHEMO to me is very harsh and the worst was my blood platelets and RBCs dropped to a point that i had to do blood transfusion.
What I tried from the very beginning of my diagnosis is taking CURCUMIN 500 MG DAILY but please check the label because CURCUMIN is better absorbed with PIPERINE(a substance from black pepper),so I take CURCUMIN with a little black pepper when I take it. I have not followed any 8 week plan, instead I took it continuously as it comes from TURMERIC(a spice), I also take CAYENNE 515 mg daily.
It helps a lot to have plant based diet, raw vegetables, fruits. Minimize sugar, better avoid if you can because sugar feeds cancer,so it thrives well with sugar. Make sure also, you need to have adequate hydration (at least 8-10 glasses of fluids a day.) And an exercise of 30 min a day is very important too.
I am 66 and would like to enjoy my retirement with as you said good quality of life, not to go back for CHEMO again and radiation.
Good luck my sister and take care,May the good Lord heals you in His miraculous and mighty way.
Janet

If you can feel your tumors, they are close-ish to the surface of your breast, try Hyperthermia (heat) too. Look it up, if you heat a cancer cell to 109 for about 45 minute it will weaken it or kill it. I did a huge amount of heat on my tumors. I had magenta mild burning but they definitely softened and shrunk between chemos from the heat.
My curcumin dose is 6000 mg/ day. I have no side effects from this dose.
If you are interested in natural assists look at the book "How to Starve Cancer" by McClelland. She used a few off label drugs and a lot of supplements....
Good luck!
BE AWARE that curcumin IS a blood thinner at high dose.... If you have any issues in this regard.

Thanks for your responses JanetMara and santabarbar.
santabarbar...would using a heating pad on the breast with the tumor be okay for trying the heat?
When I first started started researching after my diagnosis, I read Paula Black's book "Life, Cancer, and God" and learned about Dr. Lorraine Day books and other information too. Although Paula Black did do a double mastectomy...Dr. Day did not have surgery to remove her breast/breasts. Yet following Dr. Day's plan which mostly consists of drinking carrot juice and natural whole foods...both these woman have lived many, many, years healed of cancer. Since I am a woman of faith like them...I really feel encouraged by their faith and what they did to bring healing to their bodies. And as much as possible I am doing what they did and trusting my Lord to show me if there is a different path He wants me to take too.
There is so much information out there...it just boggles the mind. I have peace that going the alternative route is right for me and peace when you are facing Breast cancer is one of the most important things to me.

Have you looked at the product Theracurmin? It is a scientifically tested colloidal formulation that is highly absorbed into the blood stream.
-
No Husband11 I have not looked into Theracumin but I will check it out. Is this something you take and have had some success with?
-
i suspect most heating pads do not go to 109 but I could be wrong on that

FYI I did the regular chemo, surgery and rads -- but with the natural methods as adjunctive/complimentary therapies. You have to be aware that some cancers will never kill you and that women who forego meds may have had those poky cancers. Other cancers are much more fast growing and aggressive. So doing what someone else did... if you have a different cancer than they did, you may not get the same result.

My wife did take it at one time, back when she had breaks from her drug therapy that would allow her to take it. She didn't take it while on other drugs because there is some possibility it may interfere with the metabolism of other drugs. I say possibility, because it isn't known for sure whether it does, and if it does, whether the degree of interference would amount to anything. A recent study showed that women who took curcumin and curcumin plus piperine had levels of endoxifen (the active metabolite of tamoxifen) approx. 8 and 12 percent lower than those who didn't take curcumin. But whether that would amount to any difference in treatment is unknown.
I take it for aches and pains. Its supposed to be a potent anti-inflammatory. I can't say it works as well as say naproxen. But, I continue to take it daily.
