I found a hard lump a couple weeks ago and was sent for an ultrasound, which i had on Thursday. I was hoping to hear from my doctor this morning but still haven't and I'm stressed out waiting and worrying. How long did you wait for ultrasound results? I am only 28 but have a family history of breast cancer and I was told this is a solid mass not a cyst.

Both times I had ultrasounds I was told at the appointment that I needed a biopsy. (2003 & 2018) First time the biopsy revealed IDC, second time ILC. I don’t think this is the norm but since this is a breast cancer site a lot of us were positive for cancer. Waiting is the worst!

I’m from USA, I don’t know how things are done in BC. Wishing you a benign result!

I was also told at the ultrasound to schedule a biopsy. Hopefully the fact that you were not is a positive indication. Still can't hurt to call an ask what you should be expecting in terms of results, and when.

so my doctor told me it was a lipoma and left it at that but said if it grew or became painful to let him know (I'm guessing because liposarcoma can be misdiagnosed as lipomas but are so rare). Today I started having pain around the lump (not the lump itself) and into my armpit. Not severe but now I have myself worried again. I'm sure the doctor didnt recommend biopsy because of my age and liposarcoma are so rare so I dont know if I'm worrying about nothing but it's like I was stress free for a few days and now its back
