I had my last chemo on April 16, 2019. Just spoke with my surgeon office and they want to go with July the 10 cause that is the date that the reconstruction surgeon is available. Does this date seem far out? How was your experience?

love- I did chemo after surgery so can't advise on that aspect. A couple months after chemo will give your body a good amount of time to recover from chemo, which will help with healing post-op. Have you spoken to your oncologist about possibility of tumor change in the time between chemo and surgery?? That would concern me if there was a chance of negative change in that time.

Is the reconstructive surgeon someone you chose or who the BS choose?? You should have the right to choose the reconstructive surgeon you want

    Thoughts with you!!

Love: like Katie, I think that you would have to talk with your MO about the risk of a so far away surgery. My MO said to me that the "ideal" would be a surgery less to 40 days after finising chemo. I'm 30 days now and I'm waiting for the "tomorrow is the day" phone call, because I'm having the surgery in a public hospital. Good luck!

My surgery was 2 weeks after chemo ended.  Ideally it was supposed to be three weeks but my last week of chemo was delayed.  I thought that was too soon as I had not much time to recover but it worked out fine.  It is hard to get the BS and PS schedules aligned and book the operating room.  I would push a little to see if you could get moved up though.  Hope it works out.
