Hard Time Applying Mometasone Furoate?

My RO prescribed mometasone furoate cream .1% to use twice per day, every day during radiation treatments. I used it for the first time today and was surprised how thick and sticky it is. It’s very hard to spread and make sure I’m covering the entire treatment area (as instructed by the RO). Does anyone else have this issue or have suggestions for easier application? I tried warming it in my hands this morning, with no improvement.
