Has anyone experienced excessive hair shedding after any surgeries?

Mine started shedding 2mos after a surgery and it's getting Very bad, with no end in sight. I've switched to Nioxin products, but still shedding a lot daily. I'm scared I will be completely bald in another month! I've had my thyroid checked and it's fine!

And tips and reassurance would be greatly appreciated

Not after surgery for me however changes in hormonal status can certainly contribute to this phenomenon. Are you becoming menopausal?

I was pretty much OK with the anti-estrogen action of tamoxifen and the aromatase inhibitors in the hair department years ago but after being on injectable fulvestrant/Faslodex for a few months, I felt like excessive numbers of blonde strands were appearing all over the dark clothes I usually wear during January and February.

Perhaps there’s a cyclic nature like animals shedding their winter coats because now it doesn’t seem to be happening as much. Some beauticians can perform miracles so you might try to find someone who works with alopecia patients.One gal I know is being treated by a dermatologist for male pattern baldness!
