Two positive nodes no armpit radiation

Hello, I was diagnosed with ILC 4,5cm tumor and 2/12 positive nodes. One of them extracapsular extensión (10mm).The radiotherapist proposes breast and chest wall radiation but no armpit radiation. I am worried. anyone with similar situation?

I had one node removed and it was positive, but not extracapsular. My rad onc recommended to only do whole breast radiation and not lymph node radiation, mostly due to the increase in risk of arm lymphedema. I think it also depends on the details of your cancer too. I have a luminal A and that may be why he was less aggressive. He did say he would do the node radiation if I wanted it. I didn't want it and went with his recommendation. Did your rad onc say why he/she didn't recommend it to you?

I just started radiation yesterday. I'm doing 16 days and 5 boosts. I had pain in my breast last night and was a little worried. But I feel totally normal today after the second treatment - no pain. I have no skin issues. Of course, it's only day 2 and that is why I was worried about the pain yesterday, so I am glad it didn't come back. It was internal breast pain, not from the skin.

Thanks for your reply.  Perhaps no radiation since I had 12 nodes removed and only two positives.

Sorry I am not sure if extracapsular is the same as cortical thickening. Is there any difference?
