Hello. I am postop day 7 from left mastectomy with sentnel node bx for what we assumed was extensive DCIS. Final path came back as 0.5cm of invasive lobuloductal carcinoma. Node was negative

This site doesn't even allow this type of cancer as an option for a diagnosis, and I can't find much information about it.

I dont get to meet with medonc until next week. I was just so sure I was going to be done after my mastectomy, and now I feel totally broken not knowing if I will need chemo.

Hi meeko1452. So sorry that you find yourself here. The waiting to hear your results and treatment plan is so hard. I am not especially knowledgeable about lobuloductal carcinoma and I hope someone else who is more informed will chime in soon.

However I did want to refer you to the section on "Mixed Type Breast Cancer" (two down from the ILC section). On that board there are threads about invasive BC with mixed ductal and lobular features where you might find some other women with a similar diagnosis.

Regardless, the findings that your tumor is very small and node negative is good news.

Sending you my very best wishes.
