When did you lose your chemo curls?

I lost my hair in November 2016, two weeks after my first chemo. I stopped wearing my wig in May 2017 when I had about an inch of hair. By the end of that summer I had a head full of tight curls. I embraced my curls, letting them do what they wanted (within reason). I’ve gotten several haircuts over the past two years and yesterday the last of those chemo curls fell to floor as my stylist trimmed my hair. I am left with a bit more wave in my hair than I had prior to cancer but now feel that my hair is how it’s going to be for the foreseeable future. So two and a half years for my chemo curls

I was expecting it to take a year or more but mine started to straighten out (at least somewhat) about eight months PFC. I had kept it super short because the curls were driving me crazy but I feel like I’m at a place now where I can <finally!> grow it out.

My hair is really straight! My fantasy hair when I was a kid was curly, and I had my share of perms long ago. I expect to lose my hair around the end of this month. I think when it comes back, I'll be glad for whatever it looks like, for however long it lasts!

I finished chemo 2/2017. My hair grew very slowly, so I didn't have enough hair to go w/o covering until 10/2017. My chemo curls were soft curls. My last curls were cut off earlier this year, so my chemo curls lasted about 1 1/2 years. My hair has more wave than it did before chemo, but it doesn't have the volume (per sq inch) like before chemo. I wear it chin-length now because that seems to work best.

Wow you lost them? I still have a mass of curls 1year 5 months PFC...I thought you were going to hold on to them forever!

The weight of my hair is now weighing down the crown but I don’t think I’m losing my curls... I don’t know anyone that ever kept them. But my wig lady claims she’s seen it!

I think I lost the really curly curls about 10-11 months after final chemo. My hair is very fine, but it retained some body after the curls went away. Now if I could just get my eyelashes to grow! Babies have more lashes than I have. It's been 3-1/2 years, so I'm not too hopeful.
