hi, I am getting mixed information about testing for DCIS’s probability of return/ new primary.

Is there such a test and What is it called? Thank you!

Yes, there is an Oncotype DX test for DCIS. This is different than the Oncotype DX test for invasive breast cancer that you read about everywhere else on this board... I wish Genomic Health had had the sense to give the DCIS test a different name, but unfortunately they didn't.

The Oncotype DX for DCIS score provides an assessment of the aggressiveness of the DCIS and the likelihood of a local recurrence, either DCIS or invasive cancer, over the next 10 years. The test, together with the surgical pathology results, can be used to assess the benefit of radiation after a lumpectomy.

By comparison, the Oncotype DX for invasive breast cancer provides an assessment of distant recurrence risk and whether the patient will benefit from chemotherapy.

Edited to add: Neither the Oncotype test for DCIS nor the Oncotype test for invasive cancer provide any assessment of the risk of a new primary breast cancer.
