NEWBIE: Starting TCHP for st 2 HER2+
Hey there!
I'm new to this site and can't seem to find the right board for me. I'm starting a 6 TX TCHP regimen tomorrow and would love to connect with others who might be in a similar situation as me. I'd be grateful for anyone's help to find the right group for me
I'm 42 years old and a mom of a 7yo girl and a 3 yo boy and am finding that, during the time since my diagnosis, my stress has been concentrated on how this is going to impact my children. Anyone have any tips in that regard?
Thanks and best wishes to all who post on here. It really seems like a great way to feel less alone in all this and a place to find a terrific arsenal of knowledge! TIA

Hi!
You could join the starting chemo in April thread:

I joined Starting Chemo in July 2014, and I still stay in touch with some of the women who posted there.
You could join the Triple Positive Thread, even if you're not hormone positive. Many of the BC patients on that thread have had TCHP.

You could join the neoadjuvant TCHP thread:

And, there's a thread on TCHP side-effects:

Doing chemo with small children is a challenge; I had three children at home during chemo, and I learned to accept help from anyone who asked. It definitely made my life less stressful. Also, if you feel really stressed out, feel free to ask your doctor for some anti-anxiety meds (e.g. Ativan or Xanax). I'd always had sleep issues before cancer, but cancer made it that much worse. When I needed to sleep, I'd just dip into my emergency Ativan and it did the trick. Good luck! ((Hugs))
