Hi I went to a and e on Tuesday as I had pain in the centre of my breasts and going into my left breast, They examined me and found no lumps, or saw anything to be concerned about said it was likely non cyclic breast pain. I was told to use ice and painkillers. I went to see GP worried yesterday as I had spots on my breasts, between them and down my stomach. He examined me took one look and said nothing sinister at all, its follictus (ingrowing hairs) and prescribed antibiotics. And he said I had costochondtis. I think I have got a lot of anxiety via google. The pain has now gone, using the ice and painkillers, and the spots are slightly better after using cream for one day. Just wondered could the doctor have got it wrong at all or would they know straight away it was alright?. I have no lumps or changes that I can see.

    Dear emma78,

We are sorry that these changes and their worry have brought you here. You might tell your doctor that you have continued worries so they can better explain to you the rationale behind their diagnoses. Perhaps additional explanations could bring you some peace of mind. You are right that googling your symptoms could lead to more anxiety and you are probably better off staying away from the internet for now. Let us know if you have continued worry but we urge you to talk to your doctor for more information that can reassure you.
