Hi lovely ladies,

I just got results back from my core needle biopsy. I have what's called a Fibroadenoma with ADH. They have also added that ADH is within the fibroadenoma and not else where. I have been asked to have the lesion excised for more detailed study. I am looking for people who have had the same experience. Also just curious if anyone who went through the same was diagnosed with cancer some time later?

I am a 32 year old with two small children. I have no family history and absolutely no risk factors for cancer (BMI at the low end of normal range no alcohol use, no smoking, no BCP use, no family Hx. It scares me alot to think that I am at an increase risk for cancer now.

    Hi Momasaurus,

We're sorry to hear of your diagnosis, but happy to hear that you're getting answers! We're sure others will be by shortly to weigh in.

In the meantime, you may be interested in checking out the main Breastcancer.org site's Benign Breast Conditions section, specifically, the Fibroandeomas and Atypical Ductal Hyperplasia pages for more info.

We hope this helps and that you get responses soon!

I had your exact DX plus a couple of other benign things thrown in in the sample on the right. I did not know I had ADH until I had it removed. It was painful which is why I asked for them to remove it. My surgeon was shocked by the finding. This is also when I found out I had extremely dense breasts. I was 38. Because I had implants and dense breasts, and now ADH, I had the implants removed to make imaging better. They found ADH on the left side on the path from that surgery. Sometimes they find DCIS when they do an excisional biopsy where there is ADH. I just had a bad feeling about mine and wanted it out and I’m glad I did.
