Partial Hysterectomy and even MORE Questions

So some of you know, I have been a nightmare on Tamoxifen. I mean, I make Sybil look tame. Ha! So I had an appointment with my OB this morning (first visit since diagnosis) and the first thing she said, given my family history of breast and ovarian cancer? It just makes sense to remove my ovaries and tubes. She said it can be done laparoscopically, so the down time is minimal. While I know none of us here are doctors (we just play them on TV), how many of you experienced some of the same mood swings with hysterectomy as Tamoxifen. My thought and maybe I'm wrong? Anything is better than Tamoxifen!

It is a very personal choice. To be short I have had really bad period which is highly likely to have caused breast cancer. And mom had ovarian and breast cancer. So writing was on the wall. Had total hysterectomy to finish cancer treatments. I was almost 48. I believe I had vaginally assisted laparoscopic total hysterectomy. Three small incisions about half an inch long. No painkiller needed after 24 hrs . Downtime was minimal. I remember the reason for the surgery were tamoxifen side effects such as heart issue and endometrial cancer. Took Tamox for about 7days right before the hyst. and my period came back after 18 months!!! And started AI 2wks after the surgery. I have no regrets.
