radiation along with hormone&target therapy???

Hi every one, I am posting this for my mother. She is 67 and had a mastectomy and dissection of lymph node removal in March. At that time we knew she was at least stage 3 but a bone scan and a cat scan didn't show evidence of metastasis; even though the reports say metastasis can't be ruled out due to the extent of her cancer. We recently did a pet scan and she has some bone lesions mostly in the hip right now; even though she has no symptoms :(

She declined chemo and was planing on doing radiation next. However with the new discovery, it makes more sense to start systematic treatment as soon as possible - she is willing to do target and hormone therapy.

I have a few questions and would appreciate any input.

1. does it make sense to have radiation to treat her chest and armpit now at this stage?

2. can radiation go along with the target&hormone therapy at the same time? Mom is concerned that doing all three together might have too much side effects for her, considering her age.

Thanks in advance!

it is very important that your mother find a medical team she trusts. None of us can advise her on a treatment plan. I do advocate for consulting with a radiation oncologist and a medical oncologist to address concerns and options. And keep pursuing doctors until you find ones that you are confident in.
