anyone else with a score of 40? Just got my results yesterday. DX on 2/13 with first lumpectomy on 3/15. I’m 41. Stage 1B IDC 9mm grade 2 estrogen positive (progesterone/HER2 negative). No clean margins as entire sample was filled with DCIS. Trying one more lumpectomy this Friday 4/19. I don’t see the medical oncologist till 5/8 assuming this next surgery is a success (if not I will likely need a mastectomy). I’m curious how long my chemo course might be. I’m seeing that 40 seems high and it’s scaring me.

Hi, i see that this post is over a month old. I hope your second surgery was a success with clean margins. I was 47 when diagnosed and had and oncotype score of 31. I had IDC 14 mm, grade 3 with no nodes involved, stage 1C, in may of 2017. I did 5 months of hard chemo (FEC-D) and 21 sessions of rads. I hope you're doing ok with everything as it is so overwhelming. If you ever need to talk, I'm here. Im doing fine so far as I'm 2 yrs out but I'm still have anxiety about recurrence. It does get better with time though.

    Take care,

    Pam

thanks for your insight Pam!  I start my chemo next week - 4 AC and 4 Taxol spread 2 weeks apart each and then followed up with radiation.  My oncologist suggested I have my ovaries removed once rads are done.  I'm all for being as proactive as possible.  I am concerned once all the active treatment is done I'll be anxious about a recurrence but I guess we'll see when I get there.
