Lymphedema after cancer in 2011, now facing mastectomy

Hi all,

I had tnbc in 2011, and developed lymphedema shortly after chemo. I wear sleeves and gloves and a pump and I have it under control but it’s a permanent thing. It’s my whole right hand, arm, breast, trunk.

Last week I had a mammo and biopsy and it looks like I’ll be needing mastectomy on the same side as my lymphedema.

Has anyone had surgery after lymphedema? I’m worried my lymphedema will get much worse with mastectomy and thoughts on reconstruction or not?
