Carpel Tunnel Surgery on LE Side

I am looking for opinions on having Carpel Tunnel surgery on my LE side. I have no hand/wrist swelling, lymph is primarily in my upper arm and truncal area. My PC Doc says it would not be a problem but I honestly don't think he knows much regarding LE. I don't want to take a chance of infection/sepsis but my hand is numb or tingly many times through out every day. Any opinions or personal experiences that someone would like to share?
