Delayed reconstruction possible after implants?

I explanted my bilateral implants out a few months after having them for several years, as they were uncomfortable and always too big for me for me. I have unilateral mastectomy only and want to get the DIEP for a small A cup to match my other natural breast size, and I am wondering if that is possible since I not only waited so long after mastectomy but have also removed implants for reconstructiona and am flat now, which I don't like. I think I am reading it is possible to do delayed reconstruction, but I hope the fact that I had had implants will not mess things up. Does anyone know for sure or have this experience?
