Central lumpectomy for 8.6cm -- anyone?

I'm scheduled for a central lumpectomy in two weeks. Core tumor is 1.7x1.5 very deep close to chest wall, seen on 3D mammo, US and MRI. Elongation, like a cord going all the way from this tumor directly to the nipple 8.6cmx3.2x2 was not detected on mammo/US, but only on MRI. Two centers said MX, third -- several surgeons in a room -- said very easy central lumpectomy.

My concern is how 'central'. First of all, MRI was done a month ago, I feel now mass upward from the nipple which was not there a month ago. Surgery is not image-guided, they just put a radioseed in the initial tumor deep and dye the nodes. If surgeon is relying only on month old MRI, how clean is it going to be?

Has anyone had something similar, how did it go?
