When You're Able to Laugh
When you are feeling well enough to laugh it can be just the right medicine to help you through. If you can find laughter even when you're not feeling well that is simply heroic and something I have been unable to do so far. This is a place to share your humorous side when you can!

"How is Radiation going so far?"
"Oh fine. Some expected redness and swelling".

Wonderful idea for a thread, morningdove! Thanks for the smile -- we're sure so many here will appreciate it as well!

My sincere pleasure. My sense of humor is the gift that keeps giving and I so love to share it when I can. I also am very sensitive to those who aren't able to laugh and why I named the topic as I did. Thanks so much for letting me know this was well received!

I am more than halfway through my radiation treatments. Yay! I have been told numerous times through this treatment I am the perfect model for prone breast radiation therapy. I never considered the possibility of being a breast radiation model? Someday looking through a magazine I may see my big boob in some advertisement for prone breast radiation and say, hey that's me! Life is sure weird! Happy Friday!

Life is sure Weird Sometimes...
Like... when someone says to you "I've never seen you look better"
and you just went through breast cancer surgery, radiation and now hormone therapy...

I have found humor to be good medicine as I am going through all this. I am NED with a brain met. I often feel like crap from the side effects of my meds, sore at my scar areas, and just exhausted at times. But these things aren't outwardly visible to other people so I keep getting the cheerful " you look good". I think the next time someone says this to me I am going to say "well, thank you. It must be the afterglow from the radiation treatments."

I think that would be an awesome response HopesFiercely! I hope you feel better more days than not. It really sucks to not feel good and be dealing with what you have and what you're going through. Humor is such a blessing and so happy you have this gift. Share it whenever you can but when you can't share that too. I find that also helps me when I am feeling so bad.

Humor people: consider adopting a couple of kittens. It is kitten season now and they will be plentiful at shelters into fall. I got two kittens last fall between chemo 5 & 6 and it changed my life. Suddenly I was laughing all day long.
Humor (and black humor) are soooo helpful! And they make you feel normal and not "sick." My sister said, "It's good that between the two of us, you are the one who got cancer because you will look so much better bald." It was so demented and so funny.

And you think after going through poision slash burn, if I look good now, what did I look like before

For those who are feeling well enough to laugh and boy this photo made me laugh hysterically! Wishing you well my friends.
How bout that hormone therapy! I think I will need to discuss the possible side effects with my oncologist on the next visit. On a positive note someone told me I reminded them of Sam Elliot! 😂

Hi all. I shared this with our October 2019 Chemo Club group - another warrior brilliantly described the hangover etc feelings. Round 2 for me amped up (“cumulative” yup) so made this meme to answer “how are you feeling today?” Thanks for the laughs - need them! Xoxo from CA.
