Leuprolide and/or Tamoxifen

Hello everyone, I had a mastectomy and completed my 4 cycles of TC few weeks back, I had Stage 1A, Premenopausal, ER+/PR+.and met my MO to discuss further treatment plan. I am 43 years old. I am advised simultaneous treatment with Leuprolide and Tamoxifen but in reading through various articles on internet, i am not sure if that is standard treatment plan. I had thought the MO will only recommend either of them..

Please share your experiences as to how we should go about it.

I started with Lupron shots plus Tamoxifen. I was told it was because of the risk for incomplete ovarian suppression that AIs weren’t recommended ( although many women are given AIs with ovarian suppression [OS] ) One girl on these boards found out the shots weren’t working for her recently, so it does happen. I’ve since switched to Zoladex shots which are similar, plus the Tamoxifen. It seems not very common, but a middle of the road treatment. More beneficial than Tamoxifen alone, not as good as OS + AI. No risk if the shots don’t work with Tamoxifen vs AI though.
